Oak / 27 cm
Designed in 1972, the Giraffe would be Hans Gustav Ehrenreich’s last Hoptimist. Unlike the earlier Hoptimists, the design is not based around a circle and an ellipse – instead, the figure is more realistic and resembles three giraffes in silhouette.
The necks of the giraffes are made of flat springs that move when you push the middle head backwards or forwards. The eyes are magnets, and, as the same poles are up against each other, the gentle thrust creates an elegant movement, much like giraffes walking across the savannah.
